Hand sculpted Greyhound or Whippet sculpture. This piece was hand built from clay, carefully allowed to dry, then bisque fired to around 1900+ degrees. After surviving this process, the next step begins - this piece was enclosed in a Saggar with various combustibles like straw, wood chips or sawdust along with iron oxides, bits of copper, or salt. The saggar was then exposed to flames.
This piece is not glazed, however the surface is sealed with a ceramic acrylic sealant to bring out the colors.
This is a one of a kind piece with a truly unique surface. Totally hand made -- no molds!
This piece is made to hang on the wall from the sawtooth hanger adhered to the back.
Dimensions: about 3 1/2 inches high x 13 1/2 inches wide x 1 inch deep.
